Rockstar India (aka Rockstar Interactive India LLP) is one of the 10 current studios which are responsible for assisting with the development and Quality Assurance for various Rockstar Games titles. The studio was established in 2016 and is headed by Daniel Smith who is also the studio director and employs roughly 500 people. The studio was merged with Dhruva Interactive in May 2019 which was one of the first Indian game companies to be founded. Prior to Rockstar India being created, Rockstar Games had collaborated with Technicolor India which was the Bangalore-based studio of Technicolor SA where they worked on titles such as Red Dead Redemption, L.A Noire and Max Payne 3. In October 2012 the two studios announced the opening of the ‘Rockstar Dedicated Unit’ which was to size around 80-90 people who would work on purely just Rockstar Games titles.

Located in Bangalore which is the capital and largest city of the Indian state of Karnataka. The city has a population of more than 8 million people and a metropolitan population of around 11 million, which makes it the third most popular city in India. Located in the south of India on the Deccan Plateau, at a height of over 900m above sea level, Bangalore is known for its pleasant climate throughout the year.
