Over the recent months, in fact years, Rockstar Games have fazed away from community events, streams, in-game jobs, Snapmatic competitions etc. In this weeks GTAOnline update though, it seems they are bringing back some community spirit with the all new Community Series. Check out everything available in this week’s event below from the official Rockstar Games Newswire!
The new Community Series celebrates the talented creators of the GTA Online community with a curated playlist of superbly constructed Jobs. Now available to launch from Legion Square, the first iteration of the Series features seven high-octane Races from skilled players such as ShelbyGR, EnigmaT1m, and more.
Expect to see new Jobs periodically cycled in and out of the Series in the coming months as we highlight more of our favorite player-made creations. If you’ve created something special you believe to be worthy of the Community Series spotlight, tag it with #CommunitySeries on Social Club and Twitter — with a link to the Job so we can check it out.
The Community Series launches with 2X GTA$ and RP all week long plus a lump sum bonus of GTA$200,000 just for participating in any three Community Series Jobs. Power slide into the corona at Legion Square, launch via your map, or fire up any of these Races from the Quick Join menu to get involved:

Deathmatch Creator Update
Starting today, players can use the Deathmatch Creator to build out tons of new game types and modes with a slew of additions to the tool. The Deathmatch Creator Tutorial has been updated to guide you through the new additions, which include customization and modification options to define player inventories, alter team balancing, control starting health, hide player blips, change movement speeds and much, much more. You can even use new Modifier Sets to shrink play areas over time and gain health or other items as you score a kill.
To showcase what these new tools are capable of, we’ve published six new Deathmatch modes — with three maps for each — made using the updated Creator, now playable in-game:
Big Shot: You’ve got just one gun, one bullet, and one shot to kill your foes. Taking out an enemy will reward you with another bullet, but you can also collect ammo pickups around the map. The first team to reach the target score wins.
Speed Kills: Balance is crucial in this mode where the first team to reach the target score wins. One moves quickly while carrying slow-firing weapons; the other moves slowly but carries weapons with faster rates-of-fire.
Hot Swap: Racking up the highest score you can in a five-minute window sounds simple, but things can get complicated when the weapon in your hand keeps changing. Transferable skills have never been so important.
Dead Head: Take out your enemies to earn points — headshots earn bonus points. Precision is the key component.
Sumo Crush: This free-for-all Sumo variation is all about momentum: force your competition out of the area — which will start to shrink after a period of time — to score points. Last one standing wins.
Friendly Fire: This one’s simple, but with a twist: kill the enemies, and stop them from wiping out your team to earn points. Here’s the catch: killing your own teammates gives you a bonus. Can you wipe out the enemy team before they wipe out each other?
Announcing the Winner of the Sprunk vs. eCola Showdown
Well, the dust has settled, and the branding exercise of the century is over. It’s been a dog-eat-dog competition out there: red and green doing battle on the streets over the past month in the Sprunk vs. eCola showdown.
Diehard soda fans guzzled a ridiculous amount of cans, so much so that daily soft drink consumption doubled during the Sprunk vs. eCola showdown. They also claimed millions of bodysuits, transformed their cars into speeding billboards, and raced to photo finishes in the Southern San Andreas Super Sport Series to prove their allegiance. But only one brand can come out on top.
Ultimately, eCola fans stayed on task and outdrank the competition — proving this beverage is truly Deliciously Infectious! As a result, all players will receive the eCola Chute Bag, eCola Varsity jacket, and eCola Forwards / Backwards Caps upon logging in to GTA Online this week. Sprunk disciples, we appreciate your efforts, you will be pleased to know there will be additional opportunities to earn this Sprunk gear in future GTA Online events. Plus, everyone who played GTA Online at any point during the Sprunk vs. eCola showdown will receive a GTA$300,000 bonus automatically wired to their Maze Bank account (delivered within 72 hours of logging in).
