Rockstar Games Confirm Red Dead Online Progress Transfer from Google Stadia

Following the announcement last month that Google Stadia will be shutting down, this meant many fans (one in particular who had racked up nearly 6000 hours worth) were concerned that all of their save data would be lost.

There has been a lot of controversy over recent months with Red Dead Online and the lack of support which it has received, mainly because the developers are fully-focused on the development of GTA6, and so it has been a short waiting-game on whether Rockstar Games have put together any plan on addressing the shutdown of the Stadia and what they will do with people’s data.

Twitter user, @ItsColourTV posted yesterday a picture from his DMs which shows a reply back from Rockstar Games.

The message states that “all active Stadia players who played Red Dead Online within the 30 days prior to Stadia announcing their shutdown will be able to carry over any earned RDO$, Gold Bars, XP, Role XP and Role Tokens to another existing account on either PC, Xbox One or PlayStation 4“.

Hopefully Rockstar provided official and more detail on how this transfer will work, but for now it at least offers some reassurance to those who have been playing on the Stadia and accumulated a large amount of progress! Once Rockstar have published the official word, we’ll be sure to let everyone know.
